What I Stand For

I

The Sanctity of Life

I believe that every human life is a gift from God, beginning at conception. My mission is to bring awareness to the rights of the unborn and to advocate for a culture that protects life at every stage. In the State Assembly, I will be a consistent voice for the most vulnerable.

II

Parental Rights & Education

Education is a partnership, but the primary authority rests with the parents—not the government. I am committed to protecting parental rights, ensuring curriculum transparency, and supporting policies that empower mothers and fathers to be the primary decisionmakers in their children's lives.

III

Voting Biblical Values

Our faith shouldn't be left at the door of the Capitol. I encourage all citizens to vote with a biblical conscience. I will champion policies that protect religious freedom, support the traditional family unit and promote the moral integrity that our state so desperately needs.

The Incumbent's Record:
Nick Schultz (D-44)

Since taking office in December 2024, Nick Schultz has served as Chair of the Assembly Public Safety Committee. His voting record reflects a 98-100% alignment with the Democratic caucus. District 44 families deserve to know how his legislative priorities affect their lives.

Public Safety & Criminal Justice

AB 247 — Inmate Labor
Sought to increase wages for incarcerated hand crew members (inmate firefighters).
Impact: Increases state spending on inmate programs rather than investing in frontline public safety for District 44 communities.
SB 73 — Police & Elections
Restricts law enforcement and military personnel from interfering with or influencing election activities.
Impact: Places additional restrictions on those who serve our communities, creating barriers between law enforcement and civic life.
AB 321 — Sentencing
Clarified and amended specific misdemeanor classifications under the Penal Code.
Impact: Reclassifying crimes can reduce accountability and weaken consequences for offenders in our neighborhoods.

Health & Social Issues

AB 82 — "Legally Protected Health Care Activity"
Part of a legislative package to shield providers and patients from out-of-state legal actions regarding abortion or gender-affirming care.
Impact: Undermines the sanctity of life and parental rights by making California a destination for procedures many families of faith oppose.
AB 1675 — "No Tax Breaks for ICE Contractors Act"
Aims to eliminate corporate tax expenditures for companies that contract with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Impact: Penalizes businesses that support federal immigration enforcement, undermining the rule of law and border security.

Environment & Climate

AB 1319 — Wildlife Trafficking
Strengthened enforcement against wildlife trafficking and protected endangered species. Signed into law in 2025.
AB 43 — Wild & Scenic Rivers
Focuses on the protection of "wild and scenic" rivers in California.
AB 1975 — Clean Energy Mandates
Would require electrical corporations to use specific metrics for distribution grid utilization.
Impact: Additional mandates on energy companies can drive up utility costs for families already struggling with California's high cost of living.

Housing & Land Use

AB 1732 — CEQA Exemptions
Provides CEQA exemptions for affordable housing on university or college campuses to speed up construction.
AB 239 — Disaster Housing Task Force
Aimed to create a disaster housing task force for Los Angeles County.
Impact: Vetoed by the Governor. More bureaucracy that failed to deliver actual relief to displaced families.
AB 2612 — Solar Housing Standards
Promotes building standards for plug-in photovoltaic systems.
Impact: Additional building mandates increase construction costs, making homeownership even harder for District 44 families.
